Shaniko’s location, far from major highways, makes it one of the lesser known ghost towns. Because it’s small, a driver passing through the town (Highway #97) might miss the town entirely, especially in bad weather. After visiting most of the main and remote Ghost Towns of the Wild West, Shaniko and neighbouring Antelope remain our favourites.
